In 2010, Katharine Birbalsingh was tapped to give a speech at Britain’s Conservative Party conference, after which she was asked not to return to the school where she was employed. She eventually resigned and established her own school in 2014. A decade later, The Michaela Community School regularly boasts the highest growth scores of any K–12 educational institution in England.
