Now, Laura Testino reports on how Tennessee looks to follow Texas’s lead with the impending takeover in Memphis. As they prepare for the hard work ahead, officials may also look to Providence, Rhode Island, where the city’s seven-year takeover will come to an end on July 1. Dan McGowan covers how the state gained the authority to control the district but failed to get the community on board. “Everyone ended up with some version of what they wanted,” Dan writes. “And yet no one seems especially happy with the outcome.”
