The New York Times is reporting that Mayor Mike asked Harlem education guru Geoffrey Canada to be his Chancellor?before he picked publishing executive Cathie Black.
The Times' Javier Hernandez, who seems to be pretty connected, cites ?two people with direct knowledge of the discussions? as sources for this odd news.??Hernandez concludes that?this means that Bloomberg ?conducted a wider search than previously thought.?
That's good to know.
Canada ?did not dispute? the report, but ?declined to comment about it.?
Damn. Now we have to wait for the memoirs.
In the end?or is it the beginning??I'm not sure if this means anything at all, but for those of us who have degrees in Kremlinology, we get to dust off the tea leaves and reinvent ourselves as Tweedologists.
And then, of course, we can start speculating about Bloomberg's designs on the White House.
