A major Chicago voucher program is gaining steam in the Illinois legislature. This is highly unexpected but absolutely fantastic.
The city can continue to support the district's reform efforts, expand chartering, and give kids options in the private schools sector as well.
If you begin from the simple premise that our goal should be getting as many disadvantaged kids in great schools as soon as possible, then this multi-sector strategy makes perfect sense.
Let's hope it succeeds.
