The chief academic officer of the Denver school system reports directly to the Superintendent and is responsible for leadership, supervision, administration, coordination, and the implementation of all district academic programs and services. The preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate increases in student achievement and a reduction in the student achievement gap, has experience as an instructional leader in a diverse school district, be aware of effective instructional programs and methodologies, and have experience in evaluating such methodologies, demonstrate knowledge and understanding of student assessment and data collection and their use, speak Spanish and English, and have superior human relations skills.
