- Not much to cover today, but what we do have is interesting. I’m always glad of that. So here it is: In case you didn’t know, this week is Public Schools Week. (We all know that that term should include charter schools, but for this “celebration”, it doesn’t. It only means traditional districts.) The superintendent of Lima City Schools kicked off her district’s “celebrations” with a press conference last Friday. I am hopeful that her full remarks actually talked a lot more positively about districts generally—and about her district specifically—because the coverage here makes only the tiniest reference to what she’s supposed to be “celebrating”. Instead, the piece covers her lengthy remarks about private school vouchers and the families who use them. And she definitely isn’t celebrating those. (Lima News, 3/22/24)
