- I kinda like it when there are just a small number of clips to discuss on a given day. It helps the pieces covered stand out more starkly. Today is one of those days. First up, a batcrap crazy piece about Ohio’s anti-voucher lawsuit from an entity I’ve never heard of before that purports to be both “independent” and “news”. (This piece is neither, although I assume the reference to Bowling Green is at least accurate.) If this is all the “news” that’s fit to print “independently” in northwest Ohio, I weep for them all. (BG Independent “News”, 3/24/22)
- A small number of clips in one edition also helps to reinforce those incredibly rare instances where I was right. (Because, as I always tell you my loyal readers: I look at things very differently to most people and so must generally assume I am always wrong.) Today is also one of those days. I have been relentlessly snarky about Pete “SnoopydoopDoggy” Kadens and his effort to turn cannabis green into a life changing college scholarship program in Toledo. (What is it with northwest Ohio today, man?) No less august an entity than the Chronicle of Philanthropy backs up my extreme skepticism in this recent piece. Experience from numerous other such programs around the country shows that Kadens’ HOPE may just be a pipe dream in the end. Extreme bonus points for me, I think, since the very upright folks at the Chronicle felt it proper to include a hilarious marijuana pun in their own otherwise-cogent and not-at-all-funny analysis. (The Chronicle of Philanthropy, 3/22/22)
