- A subset of northeast Ohio teachers and other school staffers speak out in this piece, no one holding back about why they are all so exhausted and fed up with their jobs due to the ongoing pandemic disruption. Parents, kids, superiors, remote anything, even plexiglass barriers get the force of their anonymous ire. (Cleveland.com, 2/6/22)
- Not anonymous, but this anti-pro-voucher op-ed is still full of ire. Yes, you read that right. The author is, in my estimation, much more vitriolic about voucher supporters (especially those recently published in the Dispatch) than he is about the voucher program itself. Although, to be clear, he really dislikes that too. (Columbus Dispatch, 2/7/22)
- Despite all the foregoing ire toward remote learning and parents using “public money” to make educational choices and the like, here is a glowing story about Waterford Upstart, “a state-funded, online preschool program that provides families free computers and Wi-Fi hotspot devices is being offered to help low-income children across Ohio become kindergarten-ready.” Why do we love this? I fail to see the distinction. (Toledo Blade, 2/4/22)
