  1. Every urban school district in Ohio has at least one shining light—where school “works” and kids succeed academically—no matter how the rest of the district’s offerings perform. Akron Early College is one of those schools and this piece, which covers a recent celebration of their latest stellar report card, clearly shows why. “This school shows greatness,” says sophomore Saimon Lama, who commutes more than 20 miles a day to attend AEC from Stow-Munroe Falls City School District. How? “Through the work ethic from the students and the amount of effort the teacher puts in to grade the work, make the work and make the class actually enjoyable.” That does indeed sound like celebration-worthy success. 2. There’s no celebration event discussed in this matter-of-fact announcement…but we can all raise a cheer on our own if the spirit moves us to. (Diocese of Cleveland, 11/3/26)
