Chad Aldis joined the Thomas B. Fordham Institute in 2013 and is the institute’s Vice President for Ohio Policy. Aldis plans and leads Fordham’s Ohio policy, advocacy, and research agendas. In this role, he has been deeply involved in many of the key education policy debates in recent years providing testimony to the Ohio General Assembly on school funding, charter school accountability, graduation requirements, school report cards, and private school choice. His commentary and analysis is frequently featured in national and major Ohio media sources including the Columbus Dispatch, Akron Beacon-Journal, Dayton Daily News, Cincinnati Enquirer, and Cleveland.com.
In addition to his work Fordham, Aldis has served as the Director of the Iowa Department of Education, a program officer for the Walton Family Foundation, the Executive Director of School Choice Ohio, Scholarship Programs Director at the Florida Department of Education (overseeing the John M. McKay Scholarship for Students with Disabilities Program and the Tax Credit Scholarship Program), and as a legislative analyst for the Education Committee of the Florida House of Representatives.
Chad holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Mississippi and a law degree from Florida State University. Chad resides in Columbus, Ohio.
