1. Not much to talk about today, but at least one of these items is awesome. It’s an op-ed from our own Jessica Poiner, describing for a national audience the many positive steps Cleveland Metropolitan School District has taken on their path to closure and consolidation of buildings in response to decades of declining enrollment. 2. Less awesome is this profile of the group called Honesty for Ohio Education, at least one of whose leaders seems inexplicably hell-bent on ginning up a class war between lower- and higher-income folks over access to educational options. Nope. I don’t get it either. They should all probably just stick to their “more money, less accountability” script. (Ideastream Public Media, 7/16/26)
