- Not much for me to write about today, but I think the phrase “Future Scholars of Medicine Club” would pique my interest even on a busy news day. The students’ day at the hospital sounds really cool, highly engaging, and very much in keeping with the club’s name and, one assumes, the students’ own aspirations thereto. Now, keep in mind that this is suburban Avon Lake and then compare it to the “medical career pathways academies” in some of our urban school districts (you know which ones I’m talking about, don’t you?). It’s all a little bit different when such things are driven by the adults in the system rather than the aspiring internists and veterinarians of the world, isn’t it? (Cleveland.com, 5/4/23)
- Sounds like a whole lotta grouchin’ about vouchers in the Senate Education Committee yesterday, even from supporters of the EdChoice program. I hope at least some of them said “thank you, legislators” prior to their “however…” pivot. (Gongwer Ohio, 5/4/23)
