- Hey! Have you heard of this brand new media outlet called The Week?! I stumbled across it in my searching for clips for you, loyal subscribers, and I have to assume that it’s brand new (despite what its masthead would suggest). How else to explain that writers there seem to have just stumbled upon these unknown things called “charter schools” that they decided to attempt to explain to their readers with all of their accumulated minutes of background and experience. - Columbus Catholic schools and charter KIPP Columbus will be part of an effort, along with most traditional districts, to provide Covid vaccines to eligible and interested teens in the area, starting Wednesday. Nice! (Columbus Dispatch, 4/5/21)
- Here’s a really interesting and comprehensive discussion of efforts to boost school attendance in rural Ohio. It is strongly job focused (“attendance habits at school follow you into your working life”) and covers all grades from lower elementary to high school. “Stay in School, Get in the Game.” Indeed.
