- Ohio’s state auditor and the president of the Ohio Association of Community Colleges published an op-ed this week praising College Credit Plus and offering a couple of suggestions to make it even more accessible to students across the state. - Remember back when former governor Kasich proposed that teachers in Ohio connect with businesses so that they had a better idea of how to help prepare their students for the workforce? Me too! While this proposal was decried and derailed at the time, the notion has stuck around. And now that it’s an Education Service Center and a consulting firm (?!) who are proposing the plan, it’s all systems go on the BridgED workforce connection program in Delaware County and elsewhere. - Speaking of things that everyone wants to see offered in school (were we?), I have heard that financial literacy is highly-desired. It’s already part of the curriculum at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in the Canton area, and it sounds great. And as an additional nugget of fiscal wisdom: St. Thomas Aquinas accepts students using EdChoice vouchers to offset tuition. How’s that for economy? (Canton Repository, 2/17/23)
