- I was a little flippant about the ADC district audit story on Wednesday (how not unusual, I hear you all cry), so I decided to look at the media coverage a little more closely today. Sorry – still flippant, I’m afraid, because all this amounts to is that a bill that would require some kind of non-standard audit for the three ADC districts is stalled in the legislature and the minority party sponsoring decided to make some stink with the press to draw attention to their woes. (Cleveland.com, 1/26/22) The term “attention” is, sadly, a misnomer because there has been very little coverage. That includes this little snippet which for some reason lists the groups—including Fordham—who are registered as having lobbied on the stalled bill. Can’t imagine why that was deemed newsworthy in the slightest… (Cleveland.com, 1/26/22)
- We noted last week that Lakewood City Schools has the unusual responsibility of running recreation services for the entire city and has done so for a long time. After some recent kerfuffles, it seems the district feels it should now hire someone to actually be in charge of that work. How on earth have they been doing it for the last 30 years?! - Finally this week, from the SportsTechnologyEdReform desk: Students at Akron’s I Promise School and their families will soon be learning all there is to know about NFTs thanks to the LeBron James Family Foundation and Crypto.com. (Akron Beacon Journal, 1/25/22)
