- Youngstown CEO Krish Mohip this weekend unveiled a new teacher evaluation framework coming soon to his district – in which 50% of a teacher’s performance rating will be based on how the district as a whole is doing in terms of value added measures. - Speaking of districts operating under the aegis of a CEO-style Academic Distress Commission, here is another take on the English-language community meeting regarding the draft Lorain Promise plan. You will recall from last week that the only attendee quoted in the Chronicle’s coverage of this event was the grandparent of a district student who seemed pretty downbeat over the whole thing. As a contrast, I offer you the additional comments of a staffer at the Lorain Metropolitan Housing Authority, who was also present at the event. As a parent who opted her child out of Lorain City Schools, her comments are indeed enlightening. Seems to me like nothing in this plan is making her reconsider her choice. Lucky her.
