  1. No idea what happens afterward—or when—but today is the day that briefs from all parties to the voucher groucher lawsuit appeal are due. Here’s a helpful update on the sitch from Laura Hancock. (Cleveland.com, 1/11/26)

  2. Here’s a look at all the flourishing foundations that exist across Ohio to support traditional school districts. Several profiled here are decades old with well-entrenched administrative apparatuses and there are new ones being established every year. The money raised seems astronomical given the miniscule size of some of these places, as does the spending—on things like pottery wheels, new basketball nets, and supplies for a betta fish farm—even though most of the money raised does seem to go toward endowments (and the aforementioned administration, I reckon) rather than payouts supporting classrooms and students.
