Jon Husted of the Ohio State Senate is talking about setting high academic standards:
One of my favorite lines that has been used and attributed to President George W. Bush was ???????the soft bigotry of low expectations????????-that we somehow use lower standards and basically say this group and that group or this group and that school can't really achieve at that level. But I've seen differently. You get people committed to it [high standards] and people get there. I've seen it throughout my whole life.Earlier this year I traveled to India and China. No, they're not ahead of us but they're hungry??????? They're working hard. In Ohio we have to understand that we have new competitors abroad. I think Ohio is in a good position to move higher of the next decade based on what we've done in the past decade.???????
