Morgan Leavitt is the Chief Learning Officer at the Thomas B. Fordham Foundation, where she leads instructional excellence, professional learning, and school quality efforts across Fordham-authorized schools. She works closely with network and school leaders and Fordham’s sponsorship team to strengthen instructional systems, support the implementation of high-quality curricula, build leadership capacity, and advance the Foundation’s Instructional Excellence Framework.
Prior to joining Fordham, Morgan served as a Literacy Director at the KIPP Foundation, where she led national literacy initiatives and supported regional leaders in implementing research-based instructional practices aligned with the science of reading. Previously, she was Managing Director of Teaching and Learning at Breakthrough Public Schools in Cleveland, where she led academic strategy, leadership development, curriculum implementation, and continuous improvement efforts across a network of ten schools serving more than 3,200 students. Morgan began her career as a classroom teacher and has since held a variety of instructional leadership roles focused on improving student outcomes, developing educators, and building high-performing school systems. She holds a master’s degree in education leadership, management, and policy from Seton Hall University, and a bachelor’s degree in middle childhood education from The Ohio State University.
