Ashley attends Spelman College in Atlanta, GA and is majoring in English. Her hometown is Saint Louis, MO. Her experiences demonstrate her interests in youth and leadership. Her experiences include serving as summer school teacher for St. Louis Public Schools, summer camp intern for Mission St. Louis: AMP Kids, and mentor at Maintaining Innocence Is Never Impossible: Sisters Keeping It Real Through Service (MINISKIRTS), an outreach program designed to reach out to youth in the surrounding communities providing mentoring and tutoring. She has witnessed the deficiencies that are subliminally embedded in the educational system in America, as well as in her recent studies in Brazil. Her future career goal is to open several high schools and alter the standard curriculum to one that prepares students for higher education.
